Part Time work in Melbourne!!!
It s all happening, I was searching pretty hard for a part time job in melbourne till recently. It wasn't a blind search, but a rigorous one. I some how sensed, that it was a matter of time before I got part time work.Finally, couple of weeks back i got a customer service "casual" job offer.To sell broad band internet, home telephones to residential customers (warm calling).
Getting a part time/casual job is not the most difficult thing one would go through here, there are variety of vacancies avialable here, having said that how long one can stick to a particular job is a key aspect.The pay per hr varies from 15-20 Aud$, fortunately my pay hovers in the higher category. I didn't make any sale in the 1st two days of my work...was pretty unsettling. Initial expectation was pretty high from my employer..Then in my third day i confessed to my boss that things are not clicking right for me. hahaha
He said "tomorrow you'll make the killer puch myte"in a true aussie style(Goes to show their understanding and encouraging attitude)..And the next day, I did..
i made 4 sales..but still it was below my peers'performance..so i had to pull up my socks, i was thinking about my sales performance at home, at university..But slowly i was getting a hang and the nack of saying what sells...and yeah!! i was damn confident of selling well on saturday and yes !!! i reached 5 sales..now i know that i can deliver consistently and confidently...can stick on to this job for some more time then:). Its a very good environment to work.

Melbourne is place that have a lots of part time and full time job opportunities but it may be a possibilty that you won't satisfy with that job or will get frustrate by doing same boring job.Best wishes to you!
