Why Indian cricket can't reach the standards that of Australia's

May be i am wrong or may be i am right. But anybodys take on Indian cricket has always got an element of fun associated. May be mine is not different. It makes one laugh why indian media shows a key cricketer missing a practice session 1001 times and not a the hunger stricken person dying that many times.

As australia won the world cup there was hardly any talk about it surrounding me, as people were gearing up for the much preferred footy matches. May be that I thought is the importance aussies give to the game which Don redefined. Where as in india the talk of men in blue taking revenge on the bengal tigers had already been making its round after the world cup exit. Thus extremism but not application is my 1 st reason for the difference between aussie and indian cricket.

For most of us cricket is more and more becoming just like a movie. You "pay to watch your star". But in the indian context if i take an extreme stand it is "Your star is paid, to make us pay by watching them play".

Compare how the aussies gave a good bye to steve waugh after a brilliant knock and scintillating career, with how indian selector cannot look beyond Shewag. Shewag's failure is a crystal clear chronicle. If he plays an innings tomorrow, even a 4 year old kid would predict how much he would score. Just as the age of the kid, an edge to the 3rd man four. Thus not being able to look ahead and over the so called stars is my 2 nd reason for the difference between aussie and indian cricket. Let me ask you a question will shewag ever be selected for australian under 19?

Last, i think about how aussies practice. Physically toned and mentally aggressive they have got the killer attitude. Where as team india bows with both arms in crunch situation is my 3rd reason for the difference between aussie and indian cricket.

I might have given a stupid account above. But you know what, i really didn't want to be made to feel stupid with what is happening with team India. so i thought of writing stupid..phew)
